ABOUT
Each story, every invention, has a beginning, middle, and end.
Welcome to the middle of Invent Your Story.
If you’re checking things out and want to get a clearer picture of what’s going on, I appreciate your curiosity, fellow inventor! Here are some of the blueprints:
Invent Your Story was launched as a resource for creative writers. I believe there is a connection between the creative work it takes to make a story and the inventive work it takes to create a machine. I wanted to create a space for people who, like me, love both.
In the fall of 2017, I entered a contest put on by Bluehost (you can read my entry if you want to) and they liked what Invent Your Story was all about. I won the free trip WordCamp US, and I left the conference inspired with a broader vision for what Invent Your Story could mean for creatives of every kind.
The way I see it, there are three different ways you can take the idea of what it means to invent your story:
- You can create a story by writing or illustrating one.
- You can create an invention as part of your life story.
- You can apply inventive principles to enrich your daily life.
Invent Your Story is structured out of these three core ideas, and I continue to explore them on this site as I live my own inventive journey. I would love for you to join me as we dare to do some good in our world. Your story is important – it’s time to invent it.
We can connect through my newsletter, the Inventive Press, or on social media via Facebook or Twitter.
Until next time,
Invent Your Story
